Megan Jane
My sister Megan is a teacher and she inspired this hat. While she helps children learn, my hopes are that this hat will help knitters to do colourwork. The pattern design is a simple 4 stitch repeat that staggers as the hat is knit up. It gives the knitting the opportunity to practice catching floats and to do stranded knitting while using both hands.
Sizing:
This hat will fit up to a 23” circumference
Yarn: This pattern calls for a Worsted weight yarn. I used Malabrigo Rios in ‘Purpuras’ for the Main Colour and ‘Valentina’ for the Contrast Colour
Gauge:
18 sts / 4”
Needles:
4.00mm and 5.00mm needles on a 16” cord
5.00 DPN, or needles and 40” cord for magic loop
Additional Materials:
- stitch marker
- scissors
- darning needle
If you’ve never tried colourwork, give it a shot! Hope you like the pattern
