Hat design adapted from Blizzard’s Overwatch animated short “Rise and Shine”

The double-layered main body of the hat is knit in the round. Faux braids are cables stitched in the round using DPNs. These are not braided i-cords. They are hollow tubes.

Techniques: Knit in the round using DPNs, Striped colorwork, Cables.

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn, white (MC) and dark blue (CC). 220 yards of white, about a quarter of that for the blue. The yarn in pictured hat is Blue Sky Fibers Extra Aran alpaca/merino but other fibers will work.

• U.S. Size 8 (or as needed for gauge) DPNs and 16” circular needle if you wish.

• Cable needle.

• Real or fake white fur skin. Three white real or fake fur pompoms.

• 2 pieces scrap yarn. Use yarn with slightly smaller gauge in a color that contrasts against white. One stitch marker.
