This pattern is written tutorial style- instead of listing specific sizes using a set number of stitches/rows/gauge/etc per given size, it’s more so a detailed guide on how to make this pattern to fit any size, using any type of yarn. This approach allows crocheters to easily adapt the pattern to fit all sorts of body types, rather than only be provided with a few specific, set sizes.

In the tutorial I say that any weight and fibre yarn and hook size can be used. The top that is showcased in the pictures of the pattern was made using a 2.5mm hook and sport weight cotton yarn, but please feel free to use whatever you have on hand! IMPORTANT: Yardage, hook size, and gauge will all vary depending on the size and weight of materials used.

I do strongly suggest using a finer weight mercerized cotton yarn and small hook if this top is made with the intention of being worn in water.
