Melina's Mini Poof
This trendy poof looks right at home in a kid’s room, family room, lounge, or just about anywhere in the house. It can be used as an ottoman or a chair, or just to add a pop of colour.
If you would like it to be larger, you can just add more rows in the side section.
A note on stuffing: There are many things you can use to stuff your poof, and it all depends on how firm you’d like it to be. The easiest, quickest and least expensive (if you already have the materials), is to stuff a few blankets or a comforter in. This works great for the summer when you take the warmer blankets off all the beds and need a place to store them. You can also stuff it with out of season clothing to get it out of your closet. It will wrinkle them severely, but nothing that can’t be steamed out. Another very easy option is to get some inexpensive pillows and stuff them in there. Smaller squarish or round ones would work best, but normal rectangular ones can be squished in there as well. You could also get a small bean bag chair liner and put it inside. Once it’s inside, you can fill the liner with bean bag filling, or anything else. The least expensive, but most labour intensive is to stuff the poof with yarn scraps, shredded fabric, torn up clothing, and other soft materials. This will result in a very firm, heavy poof, suitable for use as a chair. The best way to keep all the stuffing inside is to sew a liner for it, with a zipper or velcro, or use a large t shirt as a lining, and put all the stuffing inside of it. The fabric of the poof is firm enough that the stuffing shouldn’t come out anyway, but this is a great second layer of security.
If the poof becomes soiled, spot cleaning is the best idea, or you can pull the stuffing out, and follow the washing instructions of the yarn used.
