Mella Cardigan is a V-neck cardigan with long sleeves and ribbed front bands with buttonholes and buttons. Primarily worked in Stockinette Stitch, the narrow lace panels running along the center fronts add eye-catching detail. Comfortably roomy sleeves allow the cardigan to be worn over a blouse or a long-sleeve sweater. The cardigan is worked top down in one piece. Short rows are worked for back neck shaping. The shoulders and sleeve caps are worked using the contiguous sleeve method developed by Susie Myers. After finishing the shoulder section, increases shape the sleeves and the fronts and back until the armhole depth is reached. Once the upper body is finished, the sleeve stitches are put on hold and the lower body is worked down to the hem. The sleeves are worked in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up along the fronts and across the neck for the ribbed front bands.

Mella Cardigan ist eine Jacke mit V-Ausschnitt, langen Ärmeln und Blenden mit Knopflöchern und Knöpfen. Hauptsächlich glatt rechts gestrickt, sind die schmalen Lochmuster-Streifen entlang beider Vorderteile der Hingucker. Die Ärmel der Jacke sind etwas weiter geschnitten, so dass die Jacke bequem über einer Bluse oder einem langärmeligen Oberteil getragen werden kann. Die Jacke wird von oben nach unten in einem Stück gestrickt. Der hintere Halsausschnitt wird mit verkürzten Reihen geformt. Für die Schultern und Armkugeln wird die Contiguous-Methode von Susie Myers verwendet. Nach Fertigstellung der Schulterpartie wird mit Zunahmen an den Ärmeln und an Vorderteilen sowie Rückenteil bis zum Erreichen der Armlochtiefe gestrickt. Anschließend werden die Ärmelmaschen stillgelegt und der untere Teil der Jacke fertiggestellt. Die Ärmel werden in der Runde gestrickt. Für die nachträglich angestrickten Blenden im Rippenmuster werden Maschen entlang der Vorderteile und des Halsausschnittes herausgestrickt.
