Melon Balls Shawlette
The bright colors of the yarn in this shawlette looked so refreshing and summery as I was knitting it that I decided to add bobbles to its body to represent melon balls…most definitely a warm weather treat! The Melon Balls Shawlette is crescent shaped, and worked from the simple razor lace edging up through the bobbled body. The crescent shape is achieved using short rows. I used Lorna’s Lace’s Shepherd Worsted Merino Wool in the color of Winona, 225 yards per skein. After blocking, my shawlette is 56 inches long and 15 inches deep at its center, deepest point. Full written instructions and charts are included in the pattern. Quick to work up, and fun to wear, this shawlette is slightly whimsical and eye catching to boot!
