Nothing beats slices of fresh and juicy watermelon on a hot summer’s day. Not only do I love their bright, vibrant colors and how fun they look, but also how delicious they taste. Apparently containing 92% water, they are perfect when you need something refreshing and cooling. They’re always in season for the
hottest months of the year. I wanted to create a fun pair of shortie socks dedicated to one of my favorite summer fruits so we can wear them and be reminded of fun, relaxing summer holiday feelings all year round.
These shortie socks are knit from the top down with a ribbed cuff, ribbed heel flap and gusset. They have a colorwork motif of large watermelon slice sections that repeat three times
down the socks with sections of stockinette in between. Knit with three colors but only using two in one round, the watermelon pips are placed in such a way that there are no difficult long floats in between them
