Melted Chevron
Melted Chevron is a simple stranded beanie designed specifically to be knitted in Qing Melted Baby Suri. Unlike more conventional woollen yarns, Melted Baby Suri has very little stretch. To compensate for this lack of elasticity this pattern uses a 2 x 2 tubular cast-on as well as a wider number of stitches around the brim. Stitches are then decreased just before starting the stranded section of the pattern. Note the unusual gauge of this hat would be difficult to achieve with a yarn other than Melted Baby Suri. If you wish to substitute the yarn please refer to my Big Chevron pattern.
FINISHED MEASUREMENT
14½ (16¾, 19¼, 21½)” / 37 (42.5, 49, 54.5) cm circumference above the brim and 6 (7, 8¾, 9¾)” / 15.25 (17.75, 22.25, 24.75) cm in height.
To be worn with 1-3” / 2.5-7.5 cm of negative ease. Sizes range from baby to large adult.
Model is 22¼” / 56.5 cm circumference around the head and wears a size 19¼” / 49 cm.
