Melted Crayons
I knit too many socks, if such a thing is possible, so I have a ridiculous amount of leftover sock yarn. In an effort to use some of it up, I created a simple color work pattern that did a lovely job blending a rainbow of colors together.
Don’t be scared by the number of colors. (Sample sock used 29!). Other samples were knit using just two colors: a solid and a self-striping. Alternatively, pick out half a dozen colors and pair them with a solid for the main color. There are many possibilities!
Pattern is written for four sizes, but could easily be modified by the slightly adventurous knitter to accommodate an even greater variety of sizes.
You will need anywhere from 350-450 yards of fingering weight sock yarn, depending on the size of your foot.
