Meet Melton the Snowman!
A delightful not so little guy (designed to stand on his own at almost 12 inches tall with Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn) he is sure to make everyone’s winter season happy!
I made him 2 different scarves so he can be ready for Christmas or just cute all winter long.
He is designed for use with the yarn weight of blanket yarn, similar or slightly thinner but can be adapted for use with other weights.
The reason for this is the nose and pipe are worsted weight.
Your scarf hook should be the same size as the one you use for the body so you can adjust the yarn accordingly.
I wouldn’t go smaller than Parfait Chunky. Obviously any smaller and the nose and pipe will be huge compared to the snowman!

I used Bernat Baby Blanket yarn for the snowman with an 8 mm hook. I have tight tension.

You should use whatever hook size you are comfortable with as long as there are no holes.

The hat is sweet snuggles lite but you can also use blanket yarn as I used the same hook size for both.

The nose and pipe are worsted weight using a 4 mm hook. The scarf is double stranded worsted weight and I used an 8 mm hook on that also.

The eyes are 24 mm round safety eyes.

You will need a toothpick, a little bit of cardboard and quick drying glue.
