Meltwater
The Meltwater shawl has narrow garter stitch borders, followed by a deep panel in the trellis lace stitch pattern. This merges into the solid diamond stitch pattern, before merging back into the final trellis lace stitch panel. A crochet cast-on is used so that the cast-on and cast-off edges look the same.
Gauge
Measure stitch and row tension after washing and blocking.
28 sts and 40 rows to 10cm over trellis lace stitch pattern using 4mm needles.
30 sts and 40 rows to 10cm over diamond stitch pattern using 4mm needles.
