We’ve all bought it: that gorgeous multi-colored skein that knits up into a disappointing muddle. But broken up just a little with a contrasting garter-ridged slip-stitch, even the feistiest colorway can shine. The reverse side of this scarf is very different but equally attractive.

I used about 3/4-of-a-400ish-yd skein each of two contrasting colours in fingering-weight yarn, but play around with the size and yarns as much as you like, since exact gauge is not critical for this project; swatch until you’re happy with the result!
