Memories
To evoke only the best memories of your favorite granny square blanket…
Simple motif, thoughtfully designed, this 12-petal circle quickly turns into a square. You will find it denser than your standard granny, with less chain spaces.
Whether you use contemporary colors or go full Retro, you will see why the ubiquitous Granny Square has stood the test of time. Relax and crochet!
Easy enough for the beginner, with chart and thoroughly tested written directions.
51” x 63” requires 12-13 skeins of Vanna’s Choice. I used : Vanna’s Choice (Yarn Weight 4; 156 m per 100 g skein)
Color A: Red, 1 skein
Color B: Burgundy, 1 skein
Color C: White, 2 skeins
Color D: Linen, 3 skeins
Color E: Charcoal Grey, 5 skeins
Hook size I (5.5 mm)
I tried to replicate the granny blanket on the back of the couch in the family home in the movie “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” I had a dream of doing this with natural colors of wool (black, white, cream) and maybe add the little bit of red and burgundy - some day!
