Memory Garden Shawl
I once heard a saying that God blesses us with a “garden of memories”. A place where our memories grow like flowers. Memories of all our family & loved ones.
Those flowers are there for us to pick whenever we need one & they never stop blooming.
There will always be a flower to make us smile, to encourage us, and to comfort us in difficult times. ♥
This is a flexible pattern in that YOU, the knitter, determine the finished size. I have given you the freedom to make a mommy/daughter scarf or one that is perfect to wrap around a friend going through difficult times. It can be a beautiful gift for the bride-to-be in the laciest of yarns or a warm bulky wrap to snuggle up with on a cold winter night.
The pattern explains how to begin & then to grow your garden. Each round adding to its finished size,
You can choose the yarn you love, then use needles that are at least two sizes larger than what that yarn suggests for the lace effect.
Bottom 2 photos are done in worsted weight on 10 1/2 needles. Used 150 gram of Wool-Ease, worked up in less than 2 days including blocking.
~~Every effort has been made to make this journey easy & readable. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. It has been tested by the awesome Staarrkatt (red, layed in a garden setting) & Dieborl (in deeper reds, modeled by her granddaughter). Both lovely ladies who offered many suggestions to make the journey a pleasant one for all.
Enjoy your journey through memories for years to come.
