The fire of the Notre-Dame de Paris in 15. April this year has inspired me to design a knitting pattern of the beautiful south rose window.
This window rose was created arround 1260 and is symbol of the creative order of the cosmos embodied in numbers.

The pattern “Memory of Notre Dame” is a single motif with a tension of 141 stitches x 141 rows including of a selvedge of 6 stitches and 6 rows.
It can be used as a single block or in combination to create individual throws, blankets, bags, shawls, afghans, cushions and much more.

I’ve used a contrast color combination to illustrate the design as clearly as possible. You may feel free to create an own color design.

Materials: 60 grams fairAlpaka Baby Alpaka Fingering (200 m/ 50 g), color Natur
35 grams of Alice Starmore Hebridean 2 Ply (85 m/ 25 g), colors - Golden Plover, Crotal, Tormentil & Red Deer each 25 g

Finished size including the selvage: 46 cm x 46 cm

The pattern includes photos, a knitting technique tutorial, knitting instructions for a single motif and 6 pages of a clear chart.

Der Brand der Notre-Dame de Paris am 15. April diesen Jahres hat mich dazu inspiriert, ein Strickmuster mit dem Motiv der Südrose dieser Kathedrale zu kreieren.
Diese Fenster-Rosette wurde um 1260 erschaffen und symbolisiert die schöpferische Ordnung des Kosmos verkörpert in Zahlen.

“Memory of Notre Dame” ist ein einzelnes Motiv mit einer Ausdehnung von 141 Maschen x 141 Reihen einschließlich eines Randes von je 6 Maschen und 6 Reihen.
Es kann einzeln oder in Kombination für Afghans, Shawls, Decken, Kissenhüllen, Taschen und vieles mehr verwendet werden.

Ich habe eine kontrastreiche Farbkombination gewählt, um das Motiv deutlich darzustellen. Sie ist ein Beispiel und möchte zur eigenen Kreativität anregen.
