Playing with simple textures in my shawls, I gravitate towards a certain stitch pattern. I took a few of my favorites and combined them into a very wearable sweater!

Mended Fences is worked from the top-down with a short-row yoke and plenty of area to modify for an exact fit. 3” of positive ease (it could be more depending on how you block; I smoothed mine out and did not pin) leaves a nice buffer to layer or wear alone. Combining a shawl collar and a turtleneck creates a lovely, not-too-tight neckline. I chose Bulky/Chunky Weight yarns for my samples; I would suggest paying attention to the 7wpi (wraps per inch) when picking out a yarn. You could use a lighter yarn and go up a size as well.
