• DESCRIPTION
These fingerless mittens and matching hat patterns will allow you to practice knitting a simple rib stitch.
Inspired by the arm warmers that Claire wears in Outlander season 4.
You can wear these gloves as wrist warmers also.
Yarn – Any Aran yarn.
1 x 100g (160m/176yds) skein of Aran yarn.
I used yarn purchased from Edinburgh – New Lanark Wool and Textiles.
You can buy this yarn from www.newlanarkspinning.com.
100g (160m/176yds) 90% Pure new wool/10% Silk/color Light Graphite.
You can substitute with any yarn that can be used with the needle size below.
Needles – 6mm (US 10) knitting needles.
• SKILLS
Level – Basic
This is a beginner-level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are casting on, casting off, working the knit stitch and the purl stitch to create 1×1 ribbing.
For the hat, you will also have to do decreases – K2tog and P2tog.
• SIZING
Men’s Small / Medium / Large
Length = 10 inches
Width (seamed laying flat and unstretched) = 3.5/4/4.5 inches
Thumbhole = 2 inches
Hat – To fit a head size of around 22/24 inches
Length – 8 inches
