There is a mistake in Row 5 of the chart. The 3rd block from the right should have an “X” in it. Also in the Fingerless Mitts directions, after the 1st paragraph it should say “switch to size 7 double-pointed needles now.” I also needed to cast on 3 sts (not 2) after the thumb sts are slipped to the holder to make the colorwork come out right.

The pattern says to continue for a total of 7 repeats, but the picture shows 6 and I was only able to squeeze in 4 repeats.

I am the designer and I’m so glad you caught these problems with this pattern. The missing x was a graph translation, but every knitter should be able to logically see where it should be.
The number of rows before the thumb increases should be “ repeat rows 1-8 twice, then rows 1-4 again”, but it still works as written, just makes a shorter cuff.
I’m not sure about the 3 sts for thumb instead of 2, but make the color pattern work and you should be fine.
