In these socks I tried to reproduce the corset of medieval clothes used in the era in which Brave is set, the animated Disney film that features a young girl of the Scottish nobility, Merida, who does not follow the label too much imposed by the era in which she lives.

This socks are knitted toe up.

Sizes
XS (56 sts), S (60 sts), M (64 sts), L (68 sts), XL (72 sts).
To fit a foot circumference of 20.5 (21, 21.5, 22, 22.5) cm, 8” (8.30”, 8.50”, 8.70”, 9”).

Finished Measurements
18 (19, 20, 20.5, 21) cm, 7.20” (7.60”, 8”, 8.20”, 8.40”) foot circumference unstretched.

Materials
Drops Flora (50 g/1.8 oz, 210 m/230 yds, 65% wool/35% alpaca): approximatively 55 (60, 68, 75, 82) gr, 231 (252, 286, 315, 345) mt of fingering yarn, col. 10.
Needles: 2.5 mm US 1 circular needles with a 80 cm 32” cable long or longer, or a dpns set. Adjust needles size if necessary for obtain the correct gauge.
Other: 1 stitch marker for the BOR, 2 stitch markers for to mark the increases of the toe, tapestry needle, scissors.

Gauge
30 sts and 36 rnds = 10 cm 4” in Stockinette Stitch.

In queste calze ho cercato di riprodurre il corsetto degli abiti medievali utilizzati nell’epoca in cui è ambientato Ribelle – The Brave, il film animato della Disney che vede come protagonista una giovane ragazza della nobiltà scozzese, Merida, che non segue troppo l’etichetta imposta dall’epoca in cui vive.

Le calze sono lavorate a partire dalla punta.

Taglie
XS (56 m), S (60 m), M (64 m), L (68 m), XL (72 m).
Per calzare una circonferenza del piede di 20.5 (21, 21.5, 22, 22.5) cm. 8” (8.30”, 8.50”, 8.70”, 9”).

Misure Finite
Circonferenza del piede senza essere tirata: 18 (19, 20, 20.5, 21) cm, 7.20” (7.60”, 8”, 8.20”, 8.40”).

Materiali
Drops Flora (50 g/1.8 oz, 210 m/230 yds, 65% lana/35% alpaca): circa 55 (60, 68, 75, 82) gr, 231 (252, 286, 315, 345) mt di filato fingering, col. 10
Ferri: circolari da 2.5 mm US 1 con cavo da 80 cm 32” o più lungo, oppure set di ferri a doppia punta. Aggiustare la misura dei ferri se necessario ad ottenere il campione corretto.
Altro: 1 marcapunto per segnare l’inizio del giro, altri 4 marcapunti per segnalare gli aumenti della punta, ago da lana, forbici.
