Merida’s Heart is a feminine, fitted ladies cable pullover (negative ease) knitted in one piece from top down with

  • a high back, relaxed V deep cable collar with I-cord bind off finish.
  • a centre Cabled Heart,
  • slight waist shaping
  • faux raglan tapered sleeves knitted in the round separately after body is finished. The cables and braids are more flattering when the garment is snug. This pattern is best suited to knitters with advanced skills.

Materials: DK, heavy DK or light Worsted weight yarn size S (minimum 1450yds/1325m) and size M (minimum 1600yds/1465m), 1 x Size 3.5mm circular needles (minimum 40”/100cm cable length), 3.5mm DPNs, cable needles, stitch holders or waste yarn, at least 12 stitch markers (preferably at least 6 identifiable pairs).

Gauge: 2 guides – 29sts over 3.75” (9.5cm) width in cabling 2 x Cable6st and 1 Centre braid. 28 to 30 rows over 4” (10cm in length)
AND
22sts and 28 to 30 rows = 4” (10cm) in stockinette stitch.
Adjust needle size to obtain gauge on stitches rather than rows.
