Merilyn
Merilyn is a framed stole which uses the main construction element of Orenburg style shawls. The body and side edgings are worked at the same time. It is worked in garter stitch, which eliminates the need for directional decreases, and so the stole reversible.
The pattern is fully charted. There is patterning on every row, and no two rows are exactly alike. Therefore attention is required when reading the charts.
I would not call this a pattern only for experienced lace knitters because with attention and focus anyone can do it!
Yarn requirements:
lace weight: 1728 m (1890 yds)
cobweb weight: 1646 m (1800 yds)
Finished size:
Lace weight: 248cm (97.5in) long, 102cm (40in) wide.
Cobweb weight: 207cm (81.5in) long, 76cm (30in) wide.
Thank you Denise and Ophelie. I would not have been able to get this pattern out without your help.
