One size fits all poncho inspired by Meringue, an albino hedgehog we rescued. Very easy knit, with optional fringe and crochet flower.

Meringue was our first albino hedgehog, and a very large girl. We originally wanted to adopt her out, but she was so timid, she would ball up, and stay balled up. At almost 2 pounds, every time I held her, those quills would painfully jab me. After several months, we decided that the best thing for her was to remain with us. I would cuddle up with her under a blanket and watch tv. Slowly, she would relax, unball, and “splat“ on me. I could feel her soft belly all the way down my forearm, her head nuzzled into the crook of my elbow, and her huge, amazing, pink butt in my hand. It was glorious.
