I got the idea for this sweater from a jacket that I saw in a fashion magazine. There is a lot of swing in this jacket. As a matter of fact, the bottom is about twice as wide as the chest. The garment was knitted loose to add to the drape. The front bands are in 1x1 rib that is knit as you knit the fronts. The right front band is also cabled and there are buttonholes knit into the center of each cable. Don’t be afraid, it is really much easier than it sounds. The beauty of this type of buttonhole is that it is easy to find the buttonhole to use, or if you don’t want to use it, it disappears. The only knitting that you have to do after you sew it together, is the collar.
