Merkel Tee
This pattern is part of a collection that incorporates sand stitch. I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of anything other than sun, sand and beaches when I’m knitting in this sand stitch. For that reason, I decided to name the pieces in this collection after my favorite beach, Merkel beach, in Harwich Port, Massachusetts.
This tee is knit from the top down, knitted flat at first to create the crew neck shaping. It is then worked in the round. Then comes the separation of the sleeves and body. Next, the body and sleeves are worked individually in the round. Then, stitches are picked up around the raw edges around the neckline to knit the collar. Finally, once the ends are woven in and the work is blocked, the Merkel Tee is ready to wear!
I hope this tee keeps you cool and stylish during the warmer months of the year. It is a perfect casual addition to your wardrobe so that you can show off your knits all year round! Opt for a cotton or linen yarn to keep you cool. I hope this tee reminds you of fun, sandy days at the beach!
9 SIZES AVAILABLE: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL
The model pictured in the photo above is wearing size S and is 5’4” (162.4cm) and has a bust size of 32” (81 cm) in circumference.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE:
Find your bust measurements below. Positive ease is built into the pattern, meaning final measurements are 0-2” (0cm-5cm) on top of that number. This allows for a light summer tee that you can wear comfortably without a lot of extra fabric to keep you warm!
To accurately choose your size, please refer to the notes section at the end of the pattern (page 7) where you will find a sizing chart and instructions to best help you select a size to knit. There is also a brief note for how to make modifications.
