Mermaid Amigurumi
This pattern is slightly long and complicated and is therefore recommended for someone with amigurumi experience. There are 21 pages of detailed instructions with 58 photos to help you complete the mermaid. You will be using these techniques in this pattern:
-Crocheting in continuous round
-Forming a magic ring
-slip stitch (ss)
-chain stitch (ch)
-single crochet (sc)
-single crochet increase (sc inc)
-single crochet decrease (sc dec)
-half double crochet (hdc)
-half double crochet increase (hdc inc)
-half double crochet decrease (hdc dec)
-single crochet 3 stitches together (sc3tog)
-treble crochet (tr)
-double treble crochet (dtr)
Using fingering yarn with 2.5mm hook will produce a mermaid of about 17.8cm/ 7in. You can use a thicker yarn to make a larger mermaid or use a thinner yarn to make a smaller mermaid.
You will need the following materials for this project (based on fingering yarn):
-Flesh color yarn
-Purple yarn
-Pink yarn
-White yarn
-Pastel yellow yarn
-Black embroidery thread
-Safety Eyes 9mm x2 (use a bigger size if you are using a thicker yarn)
-Stuffing
-Crochet Hook 2.5mm
-Felting needle + pink felting wool OR pink felt and glue
-Yarn needle
