Make your own gorgeous mermaid tail pouch or purse. The pouch doesn’t just have to be used for make up - it’s great for holding your crochet hooks/notions or if you have a little one it’s perfect as a pencil case. The purse is big enough to hold your change and a lip balm, or if you have a little girl like mine, it’s fab for holding all those precious pebbles you find when exploring.

The pattern has step by step instructions on how to crocodile stitch, along with photos to aid in understanding, making it suitable for a confident beginner who is ready to try something new. There are also instructions as to how to add lining to your make up bag/purse.

Equipment necessary:
DK yarn
Size 4mm hooks (US G/6)
Zip
Fabric for lining
Yarn needle and scissors

Make up bag uses approx 60g of yarn.
Coin purse uses approx 35g of yarn.

Approx height of tail (excluding fin):
Make up bag - 21cm (8”)
Coin purse - 11cm (4.5”)
