This is the pattern for a photo prop mermaid costume. The tail is a cocoon or “sack” that fits up to the baby’s waist. I created this pattern because I wanted a mermaid tail with defined scales like a fish. It’s not difficult to make, although it may look like it is. The tail fin is designed to be decorative but not too simple looking.

Sizes: newborn, 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months

Materials needed:
H hook
F hook or G hook
yarn needle
medium worsted weight yarn
