My pattern for the popular mermaid style soap pouch is for advanced beginners. Your finished product will be a fun little bath accessory ready for gifting. This pattern includes a full photo tutorial and is suitable for a beginner crocheter.

Note: This pattern is newly available on Ravelry, but has been for sale since 2018 in my Etsy shop - with 100s of sales and all positive reviews.

~Pattern Details~

Materials:
1oz/28grams (50 yds/46m) Worsted weight cotton yarn. Photos show it made with Country Stripes colorways.
Size 5mm crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge/size desired).
Scissors and yarn needle.
-Optional- 2 yards contrasting yarn for the tie string, stitch markers.

Gauge & Finished Size: 8 inches long and 4 inches wide including the tail. The soap holder sections (minus the tail) is 6” long. Gauge is not critical to this project.

Stitches used are slip stitches, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, and chain stitches. All symbols and stitches are written in US terminology. Pattern includes increasing, working in the round and in rows.
