Mermaid tail blanket
This is
knitted in the round, until you get to the tail section, then the two halves of the
tail are knitted flat & sewn up from the inside. This is knitted in Aran weight yarn.
I actually used 2 different colours of doubleknit, knitted together to make Aran
weight. If you need to make it larger, use Chunky weight, or, smaller, use
doubleknit – I won’t be upset I promise. The top is in rib – you can make this as
long as you like – shortish, as I have, or, longer & fold it down – it will fit for longer
if you have a larger rib.
The scale pattern is a simple repeat. 16 rows with a 40 stitch repeat. Because of
this, you can make it for very large people right down to very small guys
