I used two strands of worsted weight yarn, one solid and one ombre. It takes one 1lb skein of Caron or Red Heart and 3 skeins of ombre.

This one fits over my 3 year old’s shoulders, it hits my 9 yr old under his arms pits, on my 11 yr old it hits above the waist but he’s almost as tall as I am, he’s 5’1” and it fits me up to my waist (I’m 5’8 and weigh approximately 158lbs. The blanket measures 36 inches around at the opening…it is similar to a sleeping bag).

Your feet fit into the tail so you can flip and flop your mermaid tail. There are also foot holes so you can walk, well waddle around, instead of hopping around the house like you’re in a potato sack race :)
