This is my pattern for mermaid tail blankets. It uses crocodile stitch and Tunisian crochet. I would not recommend this as a beginner pattern.

The pattern includes instructions for all five sizes--Infant one size, Toddler one size, and Children’s one size, Teen one size, and Adult one size. Pattern runs small.
