i named this after it was finished and on the model--i realized it looks a bit like a fishing net, and imagined a mermaid finding it, abandoned in the deep, and turning it into a stylish piece of fashion. by pure coincidence the yarn color is “sailor.” ha.

unfortunately the pictures do not do this fantastic shawl justice. it is really, really pretty in person!

please note that the yarn is critical to this pattern; be sure to use something that really drapes with a bit of heft or you might not get the same effect!
