This scalloped cowl was designed to be made with Hand Maidens exquisite Maiden Hair. This luxurious cowl is knitted in the round, with a stocking and seed stitch scallop design, reminiscent of a mermaids tail and also ensures the edges do not roll.

I would recommend a silk and mohair content to any substitute yarn, as this will ensure the sheen of colour and drape of design is achieved.

As well as knowing the standard knitting stitches, you will need to know, or learn the following techniques:

• Knitting in the round
• Knit 2 together and purl 2 together
• Yarn over
• Knit and purl though back of loop
• Knit through front and back of stitch
