Merridaoc's Tea Cozy
When Merry came back from his adventures in the east, he was a taller and braver hobbit, but he still loved his comforts in true hobbit fashion. When he eventually settled down with the lovely Estella
Bolger, he asked her to work a tea cozy using one of the designs from the armor that he brought back from Rohan. Estella pulled out her needles and came up with this charming, cabled cozy that is easily adapted to fit either a two or a four cup teapot. Every time they
enjoyed afternoon tea together, Merry remembered the green fields of Rohan, and the beloved king he was able to serve for a little while.
I designed this tea cozy because I couldn’t find a cabled one that I really loved. As always, I have done my best to insure that these directions are as clear and accurate as possible, but “errare est humanum,” and if you find an issue please let me know via private message and I’ll get it fixed as soon as possible.
Note--in my experience teapots have a wide variety of sizes and shapes, so some tweaking for a well fitted cozy might be necessary. It would be quite easy to add a few purl stitches between the cables or a few rows of ribbing or after joining the two pieces into a round in order to achieve a cozy that fits your teapot properly.
Errata-
On the written out instructions chart there are three errors that I have found so far. Row 7 has has a 1 instead of a P1, and row 13 should read from the T3F:
T3F, P3, CB4F, P4, CB4F, P3, T3B, and then as written.
