The Merrily Marled Beanie is more than a hat—it’s a canvas for your creativity! This classic bottom-up design features a seamless one-by-one tubular cast on that flows effortlessly to the crown for a polished look. Whether worn cuffed for a snug fit or slouchy for a relaxed vibe, the stretchy ribbing guarantees a perfect fit every time.

But the real fun is in the yarn! Mix and match two shades of fingering-weight yarn, hold a self-striping yarn double for unexpected stripes, or combine multiple strands of different weights to create a custom DK fabric. From stash-busting leftovers to experimenting with color and texture, the options are endless.

Create a beanie as unique as you are. Let your imagination run wild—this project is all about having fun with yarn!

Pick any two colors of fingering weight yarn. The sample uses leftovers from my Half and Half Triangles Wrap.

Hold a self-striping yarn double for a different striping effect. For the second sample, I pulled one strand from the inside and one from the outside of a center-pull ball. You could get a completely different effect if you split the yarn into two balls and had both strands going in the same direction.

Hold any combination of yarns that amount to a DK-weight. The third sample is is one strand of fingering and two strands of lace.
