The Merry Mat Mug Rug was designed for the Marly Bird 24 Days of Quickies 2020 event and is available on my website for FREE. However, the paid pdf includes a row tracker checklist, as well as a page on the pdf that includes 2 gift tags for you to print out.

This written pattern can be used with the video tutorial on the “Handmade by Stacy J” YouTube channel. This is a quick and easy gift to make for someone, or to gift to yourself. There is an option for making the Merry Mat without fringe, as well. This pattern uses very little yarn and would be a great item for using up the little bits in your stash.

Difficulty level: Easy

Stitches used: Knit (k), Purl (p), Slip 2 stitches off purlwise, one at a time (Sl2)

Measures: 8”x 6”

Materials Needed:
KnitPicks Straight Knitting needles, size 6 (4.00 mm)
Caron Simply Soft (100% Acrylic, Medium 4 weight in colors:
Color A: Autumn Red - 30 yards; Color B: White - 16 yards
Crochet hook - 4mm or size G (For helping with fringe)
Scissors
