Merry Meander
This shallow crescent shawl is worked from one end to the other. It consists of four sections: the top edge, stockinette stitch center section, lace insert section, and a lace edging. The shawl begins fairly narrow at one end and the crescent shape increases for the first half as increases are made in the center section. Work continues without increases for one chart repeat, and then decreases in the center section until back to the original number of stitches.
Merry Meander evokes memories of walks along a stream, through forest floors and along sandy beaches. It also reminds me of our walk through life, which can have its twists and turns.
Written instructions are included but not row by row instructions. Lace is charted only. This is a fairly simple chart and would be a good one for those wanting to learn to use charts.
