Meryton Scarfette
The Meryton Scarfette is a petite scarf with a simple eyelet detail, and subtly scalloped ends. It’s a perfect one-skein project for that special souvenir skein or luxury yarn that will be highlighted by the simple details. It can be knit with a smooth or brushed sport weight yarn, or a light fingering and lace held together. The unique construction creates an elegant matching scallop on each end, and allows the scarf to be worked to any desired length, or to the perfect length to use up every bit of that precious yarn.
Size
• Length: 52″ (132 cm) or desired length
• Width: 4″ (10 cm)
Gauge
25 sts x 34 rows = 4″/10 cm in garter stitch eyelet pattern after blocking.
Note: this stitch pattern has a tendency to lengthen and narrow after blocking, so it is recommend to knit a swatch and block it to ensure you will achieve the desired dimensions.
Needles
Size US 4 (3.5 mm) circular or straight needles (or size needed to obtain gauge).
Yarn
Sport weight yarn, approximately 159 yds / 145 m. Additional yardage may be needed depending on the yarn and desired length, but the construction allows for the maximum amount of yarn to be used without the worry of running out.
Pink sample knit with The Fiber Co. Road to China Light (50g/159 yards/145 meters)
Purple sample knit with Les Garcon x Walcot Yarn Fluff (50g/219 yards /200meters)
