This hat is knit flat (side-to-side) using a modified short-row technique. Though displayed as a multi-color project, it could very easily be knit in just one color. (Pattern clearly explains both options.)

Designed to fit three sizes:
Preemie (12-inch/30.5cm head)
Infant (15-inch/38cm head)
Toddler (17-inch/43cm head)

ERRATA NOTE (10/13/2010):
For the toddler size, on Row 2, knit 18 stitches (pattern notes 17) before turning for first short-row. Subsequently, knit 19 stitches (instead of 18) before turning for short-row on Row 4.
