The FIFA World Cup is near and fanaticism, madness and chauvinism are on the rise! There won’t be any other topic of conversation for a month and everything will be tinted by the local colors. But it also means that we’ll have the opportunity to learn about other countries and cultures and places and for the world to share and feel a bit closer. The knitting community also has global events and loves to share… so why not combine both things?

The only really important thing when choosing your yarns is that it should be ngering weight or less, and to use a slightly bigger needle than usual, so to make the fabric open and owy, because it will be large and you will probably need to fold it in order to wear it. Based on this, you may choose any yarn you like, wool or cotton, and the result will be similar and beautiful. I used a natural mohair, lace weight, and 5 mm needle.

Color 1 (yellow): 1 mini skein (15 gr mohair / 25 gr fingering)

Llega el Mundial de fútbol y en todos lados resurge el fanatismo, la locura, y el chauvinismo está a tope. No se habla de otra cosa por un mes y todo se tiñe con los colores de la camiseta local… pero también es una oportunidad para conocer otras culturas, ciudades, y que el mundo comparta y se iguale un poco. La comunidad tejedora también tiene sus eventos mundiales y juntadas… ¿qué tal si combinamos las dos pasiones?

La única condición importante en cuanto a la elección de los hilados es que sea grosor ngering (2/7 en lanas ó 8/3 en algodones) o menor, y que se teja con una aguja con poco mayor de lo que normalmente usarías, para que la trama quede abierta y uya. Porque sí, va a ser grande de tamaño y es preferible que se pueda doblar con facilidad. Con esta base, vas a poder elegir cualquier hilado y el resultado será similar y hermoso. Yo usé un mohair lace puro, de Fibras Urbanas, y aguja de 5 mm.
