Messy bun/high ponytail beanies are the must-have accessory this winter. These easy beanies keep your hair looking great while keeping you warm.

Warning: As soon as I made my first one, everyone at work and all of my daughters asked me to make one for them. Luckily, the pattern is fast to make - you can finish one in 2-3 hours. The level of the pattern is an advanced beginner. You should be comfortable chaining and double crocheting. The pattern gives a complete photo tutorial. It features crocheted ribbing at the top and bottom of the hat, and a full tutorial on how to achieve the effect.

The pattern will work well with any worsted weight yarn; I prefer a “soft” blend and used Yarn Bee Super Soft Solids for the beanies pictured. I’ve made the pattern using just one color of yarn. You can easily make the pattern with two or more colors; if you need help with changing colors, please send me a message.
