about: The Mia Socks are a cuff down sock inspired by the Princess Diaries movies. They have stranded color-work pears knit on the top of the leg, and optional embroidered flowers around the pears on the side of the leg that faces out. The socks also feature a 2x2 cuff with a pop of color at the tip, a contrast colored toe, and utilizes a slip stitch heel flap and gusset.

Ease and Choosing a Size: Socks are knit with approximately 1” or 2.5cm of negative ease so they stretch over your foot and stay in place. Choose a size that is approximately 1” or 2.5cm smaller than your actual foot circumference (measured at the ball of the foot or the widest part).
Gauge:
32 st x 42 rows // 4x4” // 10x10cm for stockinette knit in the round.
36 st x 38 rows // 4x4” // 10x10cm for color- work knit in the round.
Suggested Needles:
US 1 // 2.25mm short circular needles or dpns - whatever your favorite method is for knitting color work socks
tip: you may need to adjust your needle size for the color-work
Yarn/Yardage: fingering weight yarn (437yds/400m per 100g) or whatever meets gauge.
You may require more yarn if you choose to lengthen the leg or foot of your sock, though these yardages are quite generous.
MC (pink): 437 yards // 400 meters
CC1 (green): 87 yards // 80 meters
CC2 (brown): 22 yards // 20 meters
Materials: stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends and for optional embroidery.
