Michelangelo - Head of David
From book:
“David with the sling
And I with the bow,”
Michelangelo.
These were the words written on the first sketch for the statue, which was completed on 25 January 1504. It is probably the most famous sculpture of all time, worked from a flawed piece of marble originally offered to Leonardo da Vinci.
Here, marble-effect colors have been chosen in pure wool to create an impression on the head of David in intarsia knitting.
