Materials:
• Small amounts of worsted weight yarn in red (Mickey) or bubble gum (Minnie), and Black. Red Heart With Love Bubble gum Pink and Holly Berry Red yarn used in photos.
• Sizes G/4.25mm, and H/5mm Crochet Hooks
• Stitch Marker to mark beginning st of a round

Stitches and Techniques Used in this Pattern:
• Chain (CH)
• Slip Stitch (SLST)
• Single Crochet (SC)
• Half Double Crochet (HDC)
• Double Crochet (DC)
• Working in Rounds
• Foundational Half Double Crochet (FHDC - optional, but worth learning!)

FHDC: This technique is used to start a project, and makes a starting chain and the first round/row of stitches at the same time. It is very stretchy, and well worth learning! Search youtube.com for a video tutorial on foundational crochet. Instructions are also given to make a round of chain then a round of HDC instead, if you prefer not to start with FHDC.

BONUS: Instructions given for making a SEAMLESS FINISH, a technique that can be used EVERY TIME you make something in the round!

Size:
This is designed to go around a standard coffee/tea cup that measures about 10-11 inches where the top of the band goes, about 9-10 inches where the bottom of the band is, and is quite stretchy. Adjusting starting FHDC/chain size will adjust the size of the band for your cup. Band width measures about 2.75” high. Instructions given to make the cup cozy smaller or larger around and taller, depending on the size of your cup and the height you desire for the band.

Gauge: 4 rows of HDC = 1.375”; 4 HDC sts = 1.125”
