“Midhope” Shawl
This shawl pattern contains instructions for making it in either 2 skeins of dk or 2 skeins of fingering/sock weight yarn.
the yardage given here in the ravelry details lists the yardage for the dk and the yardage used with the 4ply.
Gauge if you want to use one, but not strictly necessary for this design…
4ply is 15sts x 16 rows over 5cm using stocking stitch
dk is 10 sts x 12 rows over 5 cm using stocking stitch
full yarn details are included in the pattern
Its been created as part of the Outlander KAL in conjunction with Honey Girl Farm Yarns.
The style of shawl I wanted to create was one of historical origin with a twist of my own so the Sontag style was used as a base from which to work on.
The shawl can be made bigger if wished by incorporating a third skein into the piece, and directions are included to do so.
Each of the KAL pieces this year relate to a season or book from the Outlander story and the name of the shawl is from Midhope Castle, the building used to portray Lallybroch in the television series.
I very much look forward to seeing the colours that are chosen to create this shawl in.
