Midnight on the Water is a traditional waltz composed by Luke Thomasson at the turn of the 20th century. It’s a favorite session tune and its calm melody is often played as a session is ending. The cables in this wrap dance and dip and interweave—like moonlight on water.

Midnight on Water is a rectangular wrap that is knit flat, from side to side. The wrap begins and ends with a braided cable border and the stitch patterns incorporate 2-stitch, 3-stitch, and 4-stitch cables. The bind off is worked “in pattern” as established by the final Braid Border row.
