Gauge Swatch:
Chain 5, HDC in the second chain from your hook and in each stitch across, CH 1 and turn, HDC in each stitch across, CH 1 and turn, HDC in each stitch across and finish off. You should have three rows of HDC. My measurements were 1.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches long. I crochet tight, so a 6.00mm hook works for me, if you crochet loose, then I would use a 5.5mm hook.
