“This garment takes its name from the atmospheric phenomenon of Mie scattering of light particles, which produces colours at sunset,” says designer April George. This striking garment uses drop stitches worked in a laceweight mohair yarn on large needles to produce a floaty fabric, complemented by an openwork waist band in a mercerised cotton. April’s design is worked in just two pieces, which are sewn together at specific points to create this loose, drapey top.

Tension:
10 eyelet pattern repeats to 12cm width in Rowan Siena on 4mm needles after blocking.
18 sts and 17 rows to 10cm in Rowan Kidsilk Haze over garter st on 7mm needles.
