Summer of Scrubbies 2025 KAL

Introduction
A sponge that can scrub? Yes, please! The Mighty Mitered Scrub pattern is where spongy scrub yarn meets a multi-directional knit to maximize the scrub effect. You will love to have one of these in your scrub arsenal!

Worked flat, this is a mitered square that uses garter stitch and a center decrease to create stitches and rows that go two directions. The raised center creates a ridge of scrubbing for those really tough spots.

Feel free to knit this for yourself, others, and for sale. Please give me credit when selling items made from this pattern.

Skills
This project is suited for knitters who are comfortable to work in, or who are open to learning the following skills and techniques:
Bind-off, cast-on, knit, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over, purl, slip 1 knitwise.

Materials
Yarn recommendations
Jubilee, Spongy Dish Yarn, fiber content: nylon 100%; 50 g; 43 yards/40 meters, or any similar aran weight yarn that knits to gauge.

Sample used

• Size S: 8 g; 7 yards/6 meters; 1 ball in 04 Lime Green colorway.
• Size M: 13 g; 11 yards/10 meters; 1 ball in 06 Pistachio colorway.
• Size L: 19 g; 16 yards/15 meters; 1 ball in 07 Seaweed colorway.

Knitting needles
US size 9/5.5 mm, or size used to match gauge - straight or circular as you prefer.

Notions
Two locking stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle.

Gauge
12 sts x 24 rows over 4”/10 cm in garter stitch worked flat.

It is not necessary to match gauge for this pattern. If you knit with a different gauge from that in the pattern, your Mighty Mitered Scrub will end up a different finished size, and this will affect the amount of yarn needed.
