Mighty Oak Hats (3)
There are THREE HAT DESIGNS in this pattern document.
It’s been an extra special effort to collate these 3 designs, which are being made available at a lower price per hat than my other, premium hat designs, to mark & celebrate the continuing development of my Mighty Oak Collection. Each design is based on stitch patterns used elsewhere in the collection, & none of the 3 hat designs are available individually.
About the designs.
All designs are suitable for adventurous beginners.
Helpful video tutorials are linked, & full written guidance is given.
OPTION 1:
Primarily features the ‘acorn’ pattern (& this extends into the crown shaping), with an eyelet ridge brim. It can be knit as a beanie, or a slouch hat.
OPTION 2:
Has a moss (seed) stitch brim, & focuses mainly on the ‘acorn’ stitch, although the eyelet ridge pattern is also included. It has some slight slouch to it, & it cannot be altered height wise.
OPTION 3:
Also has some slight slouch, & it can be made longer for more slouch. Like option 2 it has a moss (seed) stitch brim. The body of the hat is knit in alternating ‘stripes’ of the acorn & eyelet ridge patterns.
(I also successfully knit this option double stranded, using lace weight mohair & sock yarn - see projects.)
SIZING:
Each hat is designed to fit the following Head Measurements:
cm 46-51/51-56/56-61/61-66
in 18-20/20-22/22-24/24-26
The 3 design options also look pretty good (yet differently so) on the reverse. Some examples are in my project photos.
